PAPA’s May 26th Fly-out will be to KSQL (San Carlos) to visit the Hiller Aviation Museum.

Meet @ the PAPA hangar @ 0830 for pilot brief, and wheels up at 0930? The Museum opens at 1000hrs.

Flying to the Museum:
After clearing the runway contact the Ground Frequency and ask for the Northwest Transient parking. There is a walkthrough gate that leads out behind the Izzy’s restaurant. It is a short walk past the Fairfield Hotel to the museum. (Remember the gate code to get back in.)

If you park at the airport terminal, proceed into the airport office. The airport may provide a shuttle or you can call the museum. Also, it is a short walk around the outside airport perimeter.

Saturday, May 19th, 2012: Aircraft Display Day & Rubber Chicken Bombing

This Saturday, May 19th is our second Display Day for 2012. Volunteers are needed to set up in the morning, help keep the public behind the ropes during the day, and to put away the stanchions and ropes in the afternoon. Come on out for an hour or for the day, and bring your airplane with you! Don’t let the visiting kids have all the fun, we need you, too.

And then at 4:00 p.m., prepare for the official start of Rubber Chicken Bombing! Rent a rubber chicken from Gary “Fowl Play” McDonald and test your targeting skills. This is both fun and a fund-raiser for PAPA, and a great chance to show us what you’ve got. Even the chickens will be there, won’t you?

REMINDERS: April 21, Breakfast and Display Day; April 28, our first Fly-out!

Just a reminder that this Saturday, April 21st brings another edition of Don & D-Wayne’s “Excellent Breakfast”! Come on out to the PAPA hangar between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. for a breakfast of eggs to order, corned beef hash, pancakes, coffee & juice all for only $7.00.

UPDATE: Breakfast is always an event at the PAPA Clubhouse. Check out these pictures–you can almost smell the coffee and eggs and hear the cooks in the kitchen.

Then top off your coffee cup and help set up for our first Display Day of 2012! YOU are needed to set up ropes in the morning, interact with the public during the day, then take down & put away equipment in the afternoon. Even an hour or two helps, come on out and help your club make a great impression. Print the flyer and we’ll see you on Saturday.

And last but not least, Saturday April 28th is our First Fly-Out of the year, to Benton Field Airport. We’ll be treated to a private car show so don’t miss it! See the Events Calendar or the flyer then RSVP to Joe Debnar, 707-753-1648.
